Family and friends of Rosa Chacon, a young woman found dead in a laundry cart tied up and wrapped in sheets, gathered to honor her memory on what would have been her 22nd birthday.

The gathering took place near Chacon’s home in Chicago, where she was last seen before getting into an Uber on January 18th.

Her body was found a couple of blocks away from her home in an alley and laundry cart on Wednesday.

The family claims that the Chicago police did little to help, and they hired a private investigator to find whoever is responsible for her death.

The private investigator, Jose Richard, says his team is working diligently on the case and has received tips leading them to the area of 24th place.

Community activists have also offered an additional $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
