Yonkers, NY – A man has been arrested for making threats to kill police officers who were participating in the St Patrick’s Day parade.
Ridon Kola was taken into custody by the FBI for sending threatening messages to Yonkers police officers, with one message reading, “I’m going to slaughter you little girls”.
Law enforcement officials say that Kola made multiple threats in support of radical Islamic extremism and terrorist attacks, including at least one threat committed on a public holiday.
Despite the threats, the parade will go ahead as planned with increased security measures in place.
Yonkers Mayor has reassured the public that law enforcement officials are taking the threats seriously and those responsible will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
