Good afternoon, I’m Sharon DQ. We begin with breaking news on the woman accused of causing the deaths of two men on the I74 Bridge pedestrian path. Today, Shabria Harris, 47, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated DUI causing death.
According to the police, Harris was intoxicated when she collided with three men who were walking on the bridge in May of last year. Sadly, two of the men lost their lives, while the other sustained injuries.
In light of her guilty plea, Harris has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. However, she must serve 85% of her sentence before being eligible for parole. Furthermore, once her prison term is completed, Harris will also be required to serve.
