Winter Storms Hit Both Coasts of the United States

Winter weather alerts have been issued for tens of millions of Americans as two major winter storms hit both coasts of the United States.

In California, a second atmospheric river is sweeping through the state, bringing heavy rain and severe flooding to areas that are still recovering from the first storm.

More than 200 people have been rescued, and a 300-foot levee breach near Santa Cruz has left homes underwater and roads washed away.

The storm is expected to bring another eight inches of rain on Tuesday.

On the other side of the country, a nor’easter is approaching New England, with up to 18 inches of snow forecasted in some parts.

Salt trucks are ready in Boston, and 8,000 utility workers are on standby in New York.

The storm is expected to bring a mix of rain, sleet, and snow to the Northeast, and authorities warn that it could be deadly for millions of people.

The bicoastal storms have put 24 million people under winter weather alerts, and many are facing a winter of misery.

Miguel Almaguer from NBC News reports that the storms are causing a lot of damage and pain, and there’s more bad weather on the way.
