Wilsonville Wins 5A Boys Basketball State Championship
Wilsonville High School’s boys basketball team has won the 5A state championship in Oregon.
The Wildcats beat Summit High School in the final game, 43-36, at Gill Coliseum.
Callan Gutrich led Wilsonville with 17 points, including a game-range three-pointer, while Nick Collier contributed a crucial three-pointer to help put the game away.
With this victory, Wilsonville claimed its first state title since 2018.
Meanwhile, in the 6A semifinals, West Linn, Tualatin, Clackamas, and South Medford girls competed for the chance to play in the state championship game.
West Linn defeated Lincoln 89-69, while Tualatin beat Barlow 68-55.
On the girls’ side, Clackamas advanced to the championship game by defeating Jesuit 39-35, and South Medford won 71-33 against Barlow.
