Honolulu Police Investigate Attempted Murder After Robbery Turns Violent
The Honolulu Police Department has launched an investigation into an attempted murder case that occurred on Thursday night, March 9th, on Kane’ohe Bay Drive.
According to reports, a robbery turned violent when the victim fought back and attempted to follow the suspect.
The suspect, however, managed to get away and is still at large.
The incident took place around 7:45 PM on Thursday when a 46-year-old man was reportedly getting gas at the Windward City Shopping Center.
The suspect approached him and demanded money, but the victim refused.
A brief altercation followed, and the suspect ran away.
The victim chased after him, but the suspect got into a car waiting nearby.
The victim continued to follow the suspect’s car when he was shot several times.
Bullet holes were found in the victim’s vehicle, and he sustained injuries.
He was taken to the hospital, and the Honolulu Police Department has opened a second-degree attempted murder investigation into the case.
This incident has caused concern among residents and workers in the area, especially after a beloved security guard was fatally stabbed three months ago at the same shopping center.
Some are calling for increased security measures, such as more lighting and cameras.
The suspect in this case is still on the loose, and no arrests have been made at this time.
The Honolulu Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
