The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a memorial dedicated to fallen officers was vandalized in downtown Louisville.

The memorial, located at Jefferson Square, was found with burn marks on the stone and charred pieces of the American flag.

It is currently unclear when the vandalism took place.

The local Fraternal Order of Police has been reached out to for comment on the incident.
