University of Hawaii Celebrates Spring Class of 2023
The University of Hawaii at Manoa commemorated a significant milestone on Saturday as over two thousand college students marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
The day was filled with festivities and celebrations to honor the achievements of the Class of 2023.
The graduation ceremonies took place at the Stan Sheriff Center, where two separate events were held to accommodate the large number of graduates.
Amidst the joyous atmosphere, reporters spoke with some of the newly minted graduates to capture their thoughts and future plans.
Gordon Asato, a Mechanical Engineering major, expressed his excitement about the potential job offers he has received.
He disclosed his interest in pursuing a career in the aviation industry, either locally in Hawaii or by relocating to Seattle to delve into aviation and specialize in becoming a structural engineer.
Another graduate, Lopes, who obtained a Masters in Education, shared an inspiring message.
She emphasized the importance of perseverance, stating that even when one feels incapable, they still possess the ability to overcome obstacles.
Lopes regarded this as the greatest lesson learned during her two-year journey and found solace in knowing that she could succeed even at the last moment.
In addition to the festivities at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the University of Hawaii at Hilo also held its spring commencement ceremony on the same day.
Congratulations were extended to all the graduates from both institutions.
Looking ahead, high school graduation ceremonies are set to commence as early as next week, signaling the start of a new wave of achievements and aspirations for the future.
