A delegation from the United Nations (UN) was robbed and had their vehicle stolen in the municipality of Convención in Norte de Santander.
The officials were stripped of their belongings by criminals, who also took the vehicle marked with UN insignia.
The incident occurred in the Vereda Balcones area of the municipality, where a commission from the National Learning Service had arrived to conduct workshops with UN members.
The group was intercepted by heavily armed men on motorcycles as they returned to the urban center of Convención.
The assailants forced the officials to exit the vehicle and removed their UN identification before fleeing the scene.
The police and army have launched a joint operation to capture the robbers and recover the stolen vehicle.
The regional ombudsman for Norte de Santander expressed concern over the lack of respect for international organizations that defend fundamental human rights.
