Ambassador Claire Cronin is set to receive the ambassador’s award at the annual Holyoke St.
Patrick’s Day Parade breakfast in western Massachusetts.
The parade, which has been a decades-long tradition, is kicking off at the Wyckoff Country Club, where the ambassador’s breakfast will be held.
The award is presented to individuals who have worked towards promoting the relationship between the people of the Republic of Ireland and the United States.
Ambassador Cronin, who grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts, served in the State House of Representatives and was the first woman to serve as House Majority Leader.
She was appointed by President Biden as the U.S.
ambassador to Ireland in June 2021.
