Two Children Shot in Separate Incidents in Washington, D.C.

Police are currently investigating two separate incidents where young girls were shot overnight in Washington, D.C.

One of the victims is in critical condition, while the other is expected to survive.

The first incident occurred on Hayes Street, as a family was riding in a vehicle last night.

A bullet shattered the vehicle’s window, injuring one of the children critically.

The road is still scattered with broken glass as investigators work to collect evidence in the daylight.

Just three miles away, in another incident, a 12-year-old girl was shot while she slept.

A stray bullet entered her home through a window on Naylor Road, hitting her in the leg.

Fortunately, she is expected to recover from her injuries.

According to the police, the shooting on Hayes Street took place around 9:20 PM on Sunday when the family was returning from a Mother’s Day dinner.

The family found themselves caught in a hail of gunfire, with at least 50 rounds fired.

The injured girl was rushed to the nearest fire station, where emergency medical technicians provided immediate care before transporting her to the hospital.

Meanwhile, neighbors on Hayes Street expressed their concern and offered prayers for the young victim and her family.

They also called for increased police patrols in the area to ensure the safety of the community.

So far, investigators have not released any suspect information or vehicle descriptions in either of the incidents.

However, it is worth noting that several homes on Hayes Street have private security cameras, which could potentially aid the investigation.

The police are actively reviewing the footage from these cameras in hopes of gathering valuable evidence.

The incidents have raised alarm and concern among residents who believe that their neighborhood should not be plagued by such violence.

They expressed their frustration over the reckless discharge of firearms, stating that people have worked hard to build their homes and should not have to fear bullets flying through their windows.

They are calling for stronger measures to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of their community.

The investigation into these shootings is ongoing, and the police urge anyone with information to come forward.

They are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further acts of violence in the neighborhood.
