The name of the deceased person has not been disclosed. Firefighters in Sullivan County had a hectic weekend as they battled two massive fires within two days. On Saturday, multiple firefighting teams from different towns responded to a three-alarm fire on Gilman Pond Road in Unity. According to a firefighter at the scene, everyone was able to safely evacuate the house.
The Sunapee Fire Department received a call around 1:30 in the afternoon and remained at the scene for approximately four hours. Many firefighters who had responded to the fire in Unity the previous day also assisted at the location of Friday’s fire in Northfield. The fire completely destroyed a building from the 1800s.
