Former President Donald Trump has once again attempted to control the narrative in the ongoing investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Political commentator Michael Steele criticized Trump for trying to frame the outcome on his own terms before the facts come out.

Steele pointed out that Trump’s tactic of muddying the waters and denigrating individuals who seek the truth is well-known, citing the example of how Trump released an incomplete transcript from a phone call with the Ukrainian president in an attempt to dig up dirt on the Bidens ahead of the 2020 election.

Trump’s recent claim that he would be arrested by the Manhattan DA’s office was a typical move to fire up his supporters and deflect attention from the real story, according to Steele.

Despite the announcement, Trump was not arrested today, and an indictment by the Manhattan DA’s office still looms.
