Former President Donald Trump is set to speak at a town hall event in New Hampshire the day after a civil trial verdict, where a jury in New York found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation.
The trial involved Eugene Carroll, who accused Trump of assaulting her in a department store dressing room in the 90s and then defaming her when he denied the allegations.
Although the jury did not find evidence of rape, they awarded Carroll approximately $5 million in damages.
In response to the verdict, Trump took to social media, claiming that he doesn’t know Carroll and criticizing the jury’s decision as a disgrace and a witch hunt.
The upcoming town hall event is expected to touch upon the trial verdict, providing an opportunity for Trump to address the issue.
The event will be hosted by CNN, the network that Trump has often labeled as “fake news,” and will be broadcast live, lasting for approximately two hours.
