Former President Donald Trump has predicted his own arrest in a hush money case involving adult film star Stormy Daniels.

He made the claim on social media citing “illegal leaks” and called for his followers to protest on his behalf.

Trump’s allies criticized the New York City-based case as purely political, while Democrats condemned his rhetoric and fears were raised of potential violence.

Law enforcement officials in New York are said to be preparing for the possibility of Trump’s indictment and arrest as soon as next week.

The case centers on whether then-candidate Trump directed his attorney Michael Cohen to pay off Daniels in 2016.

Trump’s supporters argue that a New York City indictment would only help him in his bid to return to the White House.
