Former President Donald Trump made his first campaign trip to Iowa on Friday, where he spoke about education in the city of Davenport.
Meanwhile, potential rivals for the 2024 Republican nomination have been crisscrossing the country, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence both making appearances.
Pence’s criticism of Trump’s actions on January 6th marked his strongest rebuke yet of his former boss.
The former president has yet to respond to Pence’s comments, instead focusing on promoting DeSantis and posting a video on social media.
However, a new poll shows Trump’s support slipping among Iowa Republicans, with the percentage who would definitely vote for him dropping 20 percentage points since June 2021.
There is also speculation around South Carolina Senator Tim Scott running in 2024, as he recently spoke at CPAC and headlined a donor dinner in Florida.
