Protesters clashed with police in New York City following the death of Jordan Neely, who tragically passed away after being put in a chokehold by a bystander near the Broadway-Lafayette St Station.

The NYPD confirmed that 11 individuals were arrested during the clashes.

During the protest, authorities discovered a multi-Molotov cocktail on the ground near the scene, although it remains unclear who placed it there.

Since the initial revelation of Neely’s story last week, protests have been taking place almost every night.

The fate of Daniel Penny, the individual responsible for the incident, now lies in the hands of a grand jury who is expected to decide this week whether he will face criminal charges for Neely’s death.

It is worth noting that Penny has a documented history of mental illness.

This situation continues to develop, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
