An 18-year-old was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred in Rock Department.

According to reports, the incident took place when a 2015 Subaru, driven by the teenager, failed to negotiate a turn at an intersection and veered off the road, ultimately colliding with a tree.

The impact of the collision proved fatal for the 18-year-old from Boyd, Iowa, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fortunately, a juvenile passenger who was also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash sustained only minor injuries.

The semi truck driver, aged 69, involved in the incident emerged unharmed.

The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
