Tragedy Strikes Peet’s Coffee Warehouse in Oakland as Roof Collapses, Killing One

One person was killed and another suffered minor injuries after part of the roof at the Peet’s Coffee warehouse in Oakland collapsed on Friday morning.

According to reports, the incident happened around 3 a.m., before the start of the work shift.

The victim who died was identified as a shift lead who had been with the company for some time.

The collapse occurred in the reception area of the distribution center on 85th Avenue in Oakland.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is on site to investigate the cause of the incident, and a structural engineer will also be arriving to assess the damage.

It is still unclear whether the collapse was weather-related, although OSHA will be conducting a thorough investigation.

A spokesperson for Peet’s Coffee stated that the workers at the warehouse were in shock and struggling to process what had happened.
