Tragic Crash in Mesa Leaves Three Teen Girls Dead and One Hospitalized
A tragic car crash in Mesa, Arizona has left three teen girls dead and one hospitalized.
According to police, the 16-year-old driver of a blue Ford Mustang lost control of the vehicle while changing lanes and hit a light pole.
The incident occurred during heavy rain, and speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
Video footage from the scene shows the blue Mustang overturned and police report that all four girls were trapped inside.
Two of them, the 16-year-old driver and a 17-year-old, died at the scene, while another 17-year-old and a 14-year-old were rushed to the hospital.
Unfortunately, only the 14-year-old survived.
The girls were all friends and students at Skyline High School in Mesa.
The school district expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and offered support through their crisis team.
Investigators reminded the public of a recent initiative called “Operation Safer Streets,” which aims to enforce traffic laws to prevent accidents like this from happening.
The community has set up a memorial at the scene to honor the three teens who lost their lives.
