Two young adults were killed in a dirt bike crash in Cranston on Wednesday night.
Jovanni E.
Delgiudice, 21, was riding a motocross racing motorcycle with Yasmary Valdera, 20, on the back when they collided with an SUV at the intersection of Broad Street and Wheeler Avenue just after 8 p.m.
Valdera died from her injuries and Delgiudice’s family said he was a great kid who loved his family.
Police identified Delgiudice as the operator of the bike, which he had purchased the day before the crash.
The type of bike was not meant to be registered on the street due to its manufacturing and lack of features like turn signals and brake lights.
Police say that combined with evidence that the bike was traveling at a high rate of speed is why the driver turning onto Wheeler Avenue didn’t see it.
The driver of the SUV was not injured and won’t face any charges.
Valdera’s family said she was a model who had two businesses doing nails and lashes and was a student at Rick.
Family members of both victims have been visiting the scene of the crash to remember their loved ones.
