Fatal Crash Shuts Down SR-60 in Polk County
A tragic accident has resulted in the closure of SR-60 in Polk County, between S.
County Line Rd.
and Nichols Rd., just west of Mulberry.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 5:41 a.m.
and involved two vehicles.
Reports indicate that one person has lost their life in the crash, while five others have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The severity of their injuries is currently unknown.
The scene of the accident was captured by Eagle 8 HD, showing the involved vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, located at the intersection of Pine Grove Road.
Emergency response teams, including Polk County Fire Rescue and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, swiftly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.
The closure of SR-60 has caused significant disruption to traffic in the area, prompting authorities to advise motorists to seek alternative routes using nearby side streets.
