In a tragic turn of events, a joyous birthday celebration in Mumbai’s Govandi took a horrifying twist, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old boy at the hands of his four friends.

The victim, identified as Sabir Ansari, had organized a birthday party at a local ‘dhaba’ to commemorate his special day.

However, the atmosphere quickly soured when a dispute erupted over the splitting of the substantial food bill, amounting to approximately Rs 10,000.

Sabir insisted that he couldn’t afford to foot the entire bill and requested his friends to contribute their share.

Eventually, he decided to resolve the matter by paying the amount himself, with the understanding that his friends would reimburse him later.

Unfortunately, when Sabir approached his friends to collect the money owed, they not only refused to pay but also issued threats.

In an unsettling turn of events, the friends planned another gathering and lured Sabir to join them.

After presenting him with a birthday cake, they launched a brutal attack, repeatedly striking him with sharp weapons until he succumbed to his injuries.

Shockingly, the four friends managed to escape the scene.

Among the group, two were minors aged 17, while the remaining two were 19 and 22 years old.

Although the two minors surrendered themselves to the police, the 19-year-old and 22-year-old culprits initially evaded capture.

Authorities eventually apprehended them in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, after they had fled to their village in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.

Conflicting narratives have emerged regarding the motive behind the gruesome incident.

Sabir claimed that the dispute arose from the bill, while his father alleged that one of Sabir’s friends had hired a DJ for the party, but Sabir failed to contribute the funds, leading to the fatal attack.

As the investigation unfolds, the two underage individuals have been sent to a correctional facility, while the older friends have been remanded to jail.

Charges filed against them include section 302 for murder, among other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This heart-wrenching incident has left a family grieving for their lost son, extinguishing the bright future he once held.

Sadly, Sabir’s life was cut short due to a dispute that spiraled out of control, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
