Tragedy struck a family in Maricopa when a 2-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a backyard swimming pool.
According to the Maricopa Police Department, emergency crews were called to a home in the Cobblestone Farms neighborhood just before 8:30 p.m.
on March 15.
When they arrived, they discovered that the child had already been pulled out of the water by someone at the scene.
Despite the efforts of Maricopa Fire/Medical personnel to revive her, the little girl tragically passed away at the hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation, and police have not yet released any details about how the child ended up in the pool or how long she may have been in the water before being found.
