Thursday’s storm in the Pikes Peak area has caused significant flooding, leading to dangerous road conditions for drivers in East Colorado Springs.

One heavily affected area is Marksheffel Road, specifically between North Carefree Circle and Barnes Road.

Both directions of the road have been impacted by the flooding, resulting in slow-moving traffic.

While the road remains open for now, drivers are advised to exercise caution and reduce their speed to avoid hydroplaning.

The water on the road measures approximately half a foot deep at its deepest point.

Some drivers of lower profile cars have chosen to turn around rather than attempt to drive through the flooded area.

KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Riley Carroll is reporting live from North Marksheffel, providing updates on the current conditions.
