Boat Suspected of Smuggling Washes Up Near Boynton Beach Inlet

A boat that washed up near Boynton Beach Inlet is suspected to have been involved in a smuggling event, according to U.S.

Border Patrol.

The 24-foot boat, which appears to have Bahamas registration, was found flipped onto its side with ten migrants from Guyana, Jamaica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil on board.

The migrants have been taken into custody, and the boat has been towed away.

All that remains at the scene are life jackets, bottles of water, and shoes.

The boat is believed to have come to a stop around 3 a.m.

Friday morning across the street from Ocean Inlet Park.

An investigation is currently underway.
