Insurance companies in California are seeing a surge in claims due to the recent storms in the area.

State Farm alone has received over 7,700 home and auto claims from across the state, with 1,000 of those claims made in just two days this week.

Business and homeowners who plan on filing insurance claims should not wait, as the number of claims is expected to continue to rise.

The damage caused by the storms includes cracked roofs in Grass Valley, downed trees in Camino, and even complete loss in Pollock Pines.

Some people had to wait for the water to recede or the snow to melt before they could assess the damage.

It’s not typical to see this level of claim volume from high winds and hail storms at this time of year in California.

If you are looking to get flood insurance, you can only get it through FEMA, and you must have it for a month before you can file a claim.
