This afternoon, a large rally showing support for Palestine took place in front of Springfield City Hall. As the war between Israel and Hamas persists, protests continue to erupt across the United States, including here in Western Massachusetts.

Hundreds of people came together for the rally, known as “Springfield Stands with Palestine,” gathering on the steps of City Hall. Leaders with megaphones led the crowd in chants, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Police were present to ensure the safety of the march, which proceeded down Main Street and up to the federal courthouse on State Street. During the rally, one speaker highlighted the hypocrisy of labeling those who resist as terrorists, while the occupying force kills thousands of civilians, targets hospitals, and commits other atrocities in the name of self-defense. Today’s pro-Palestinian rally was organized by Cultures of Resistance.
