A sunken boat has been successfully recovered from the Sacramento River Deep Water Channel, following its submersion during a bout of stormy weather earlier this month.

The 41-foot-long cruiser was causing environmental and navigational hazards for boats traveling to the Port of West Sacramento, making its removal imperative.

Authorities report that the operation was successful, with the boat being pulled from the waters and taken away from the scene.

The Sacramento deep water channel is a busy hub, and officials are relieved that the sunken vessel is no longer a threat to safety or the environment.
