High-rise apartment building in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood caught fire on Thursday morning, starting in one of the units on the 10th floor.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the unit where it started.
There was some exterior damage to the floors above it, but the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire using hoses from the ground.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and it is too early to determine if anyone was inside the unit when it started.
The same building was the scene of a deadly fire in 2012, which forced the owners to make some changes to the fire protection equipment.
Firefighters say that everything was working when they arrived, and they did not have to rescue anyone inside the building.
They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
