South Florida to Experience Prolonged Rain Event Over Weekend

According to CBS4 News chief meteorologist Ivan Cabrera’s latest weather outlook, South Florida can expect to remain sunny on Friday.

However, half of the upcoming weekend will experience a prolonged rain event.

Cabrera predicts that Saturday will still be hot and humid, but outdoor activities can still be planned without a hitch.

The weather is expected to take a turn for the worse on Sunday, as a front that is currently causing severe weather in other areas approaches South Florida.

Although the front is not expected to cause severe weather in South Florida, the region is likely to experience one to three inches of rainfall over a two to two and a half day period, starting from Saturday night and extending into Monday.

The computer model forecast suggests that this is a significant amount of rain.

Nevertheless, Cabrera does not expect flooding to be an issue.

Friday’s temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s to lower 80s, and the weekend weather can be planned out accordingly.

Cabrera assures viewers that he will continue to provide updated weather information as the weekend approaches.
