Michael May named new superintendent of Martin County School District Police Activity and Road Closure on Evergreen Way in Everett Following Deadly Incident

South Dakota State’s snowplows have some pretty cool names, all thanks to the Dot’s snowplow naming contest.

One of the winners, Christine Wandless, a nurse who entered the contest last year, got to meet Blizzard Buster at the Dot’s Sioux Falls location.

Blizzard Buster is a snowplow that is helping keep the roads safer for everyone traveling in and through South Dakota.

Wandless was surprised to learn that one of her five entries had won the contest, and she named the snowplow Blizzard Buster because of the amount of snow they’ve had to clear this season.

Blizzard Buster is driven by Jared Lair, a highway maintenance worker, who likes the name and is happy that the public is getting involved.

With winter still hanging on in Keloland, it’s likely that Blizzard Buster will be putting in more hours clearing the roads this season.
