South Bay and Peninsula schools in the Bay Area were closed on Wednesday due to power outages caused by the recent storm.

However, many of them reopened on Thursday, even without electricity, as PG&E crews worked to restore power.

While many school leaders asked students to come back to class, some high school districts remained closed, awaiting power restoration.

Despite the challenges, families and students appreciated having a safe place to be during the outages, and some schools continued to hold classes without electricity.

Many households and businesses in the Bay Area are still without power, and the PG&E website shows that some may remain without power until the 26th of March.
