Snowplow operators in the greater Toronto area are reportedly facing an increasing amount of abuse and harassment while on the job.

Some contractors have even resigned due to the aggression they have faced.

During a recent snowstorm, eight incidents were reported in Mississauga of residents trying to stop snowplows from entering their street.

The abuse caused one contractor to resign, and others have reported facing harassment and aggressive behavior from some residents.

In some cases, this has escalated to harassment and violence, with residents damaging the lights and mirrors on plow trucks.

In Durham region, a man got into an altercation with a snowplow driver after a pile of snow blocked his driveway, resulting in an assault charge.

Despite the challenges faced by snowplow operators, clearing the roadways is important to ensure public safety.
