Loved ones gathered to celebrate the birthday of Charlie Willis, a Little Rock bartender who was shot and killed while working at Pizza D nearly a year ago.

Charlie would have turned 54 this year, and his sister decided to throw him a party instead of a candlelight vigil on the anniversary of his death.

Tyler Jackson has been arrested and charged with Charlie’s murder, but Shirley, Charlie’s sister, was disappointed to hear that the prosecuting attorney is offering Jackson a plea deal.

She believes the case is “neatly gift-wrapped” with video evidence and eyewitnesses.

Jackson’s pre-trial hearing is set for Monday, and his trial is scheduled for April 11th.
