Siouxlanders Embrace Bike to Work Event for a Healthy Start to the Day
Sioux City, IA – On May 19th, Siouxlanders gathered bright and early to participate in the annual “Bike to Work” event hosted by the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.
With ideal weather conditions, approximately 100 cyclists kicked off their day with exercise and camaraderie.
The event, which has been a tradition for over a decade, aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and provide a networking opportunity for participants.
Cyclists gathered in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce, where they enjoyed a delicious breakfast before heading to their respective jobs.
Erin Berzina, a representative from the Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council (SIMPCO), highlighted the multiple benefits of the event.
“I think people like the camaraderie.
We have people sometimes just drive on through and pick up a banana, but they get to say hi to each other a little bit and converse and be on their way,” Berzina explained.
For those who were unable to participate this year, fear not.
The “Bike to Work” event will return next year in May, providing another opportunity for Siouxlanders to embrace a healthy and active start to their day.
