Sioux Falls Woman Killed in Lincoln County Crash Due to Snow and Ice on the Road
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has identified a Sioux Falls woman who died in a crash southeast of Tea last week.
According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 11 o’clock Friday morning when an SUV traveling westbound lost control due to snow and ice on the road, crossed the center line, and collided with an eastbound semi.
The driver of the SUV, 71-year-old Catherine Thorson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, 32-year-old Travis Grave, was unharmed.
The accident serves as a reminder for all motorists to exercise caution when driving on snowy and icy roads.
