Sioux Falls businessman Dick Sweetman has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the 43rd St.
Patrick’s Day Parade in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Sweetman, who carries both American and Irish citizenships, is the founder of Sweetman Construction and a former chairman of Ramkota hotel company.
He also founded the Ellison Eastern Railroad and until recently, his family owned Concrete Materials, which provides aggregate, asphalt, and concrete for much of the region.
Sweetman, who considers himself semi-retired, is also a Notre Dame Fighting Irish supporter and a huge fan of Ireland.
He and his family have been to many St.
Patrick’s Day parades in downtown Sioux Falls, and this year he’s hoping for a big crowd on Saturday.
The parade, which returns after being canceled twice due to the pandemic, will run down Phillips Avenue right downtown at 2 PM.
