A shootout occurred at Hanes Mall’s parking lot in Winston-Salem on Saturday night, according to the city’s police department.
An off-duty police officer who was inside the mall heard gunshots and alerted the authorities.
Witnesses reported that a man in a van and several juveniles in another van engaged in a gunfight.
The incident caused damage to five cars and a cargo trailer, but no injuries were reported.
The suspects were last seen driving south towards Stratford Road in a burgundy van, while the man was wearing a black hoodie and gray pants.
The police have not disclosed how many suspects were involved in the incident.
Shell casings were discovered near the Sears store on the north side of the mall, and an investigation is currently underway.
