1 Dead, 1 Injured in Shooting at North Houston Park
HOUSTON – A shooting incident at a park in north Houston has left one person dead and another injured, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).
The victims, both adult males in their 20s or 30s, were found at the scene of the crash near 9400 Max Road.
Authorities believe the shooting took place at Lincoln Park, located just a short distance away from where the victims were discovered.
The exact reason behind the incident remains unknown at this time.
The HPD has received information suggesting that the perpetrators may be Hispanic males traveling in a black Toyota Camry.
Witnesses reported that the shooting occurred while the victims were present at the park.
Upon hearing the gunshots, the two victims fled the park and ran through nearby yards until their car crashed into a tree on Max Road.
Responding officers found one of the males deceased at the scene, while the other was transported to a medical facility with multiple gunshot wounds.
His condition is said to be stable, and he is expected to survive.
Law enforcement officials have recovered pistol round brass at the park, indicating that firearms were involved in the incident.
However, the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
The HPD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
