A shocking video was released in Virginia today showing the final moments of 28-year-old Irvo Otieno, who was restrained by seven Virginia sheriff’s deputies and three hospital workers at a mental hospital.
The video shows deputies and staff piling on top of him, and he was later found unresponsive.
A grand jury met for three hours today and returned with 10 indictments, including murder charges for all involved.
Otieno’s family is haunted by his death and continues to call his name every day.
The seven deputies are currently on administrative leave, and defense attorneys for the defendants have not responded to requests for comment.
The sheriff’s office has also not commented on the situation.
