Senator Tim Kaine has introduced a new bill aimed at restricting the marketing of guns to children.

The Protecting Kids from Gun Marketing Act, which has 12 co-sponsors, calls on the Federal Trade Commission to establish regulations similar to those governing the marketing of tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana.

Kaine has highlighted the child-sized version of the AR-15, known as the JR15, which is marketed towards elementary school children.

The bill seeks to prevent gun manufacturers from promoting their products to minors, in an effort to reduce the incidence of gun violence among young people.
