Transitional Improvements: Helping Homeless & Formerly Incarcerated Grocery Store Shooting; 1 Injured, 1 in Custody

Currently, the family is still seeking justice for their loved one who was fatally shot in Opaka. It has been a year since the incident occurred and the perpetrator has not been apprehended.

Our reporter, Len Livingston, is live in Northwest Miami where the family made an emotional plea for assistance. One year later, almost to the minute, the shooting took place outside this parking lot in Opaka. Tragically, the victim was found dead a block away in his car, having been shot multiple times. Despite the passage of a year, no arrests have been made. Donna Shaw, the wife of the deceased, shares her heartbreaking experience.

Not only did she lose her husband and best friend, but her family also lost a father, grandfather, and son-in-law. Donna expresses her grief and desperation, describing her late husband as her soulmate. This devastating event occurred on November 7th, 2022, when Gregory Shaw left home to pick up food but never returned. According to the police investigation, Gregory was leaving the drive-thru of a Burger King in Opaka when he was confronted by the suspect.

The perpetrator fired multiple shots into Gregory’s vehicle without any prior argument or exchange of words. Surveillance footage captured the suspect inside the Burger King before the shooting took place. Gregory lost his life at the scene and in a desperate attempt to escape, his car collided.

His family and friends believe that someone, somewhere, possesses information that could assist the police in finding the shooter. They plead for the public’s help, as the longer the suspect remains at large, the greater the risk of further harm to others. If you have any information regarding this case, please consider reaching out to the authorities anonymously through Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. Your identity will remain confidential.
