Fort Hood, Texas – The Army is investigating the death of a second female soldier at Fort Hood, the same military base where Private First Class Vanessa Guillen was murdered in 2020.
Private Second Class Ana Basalduaruiz died under mysterious circumstances, and her family alleges that she had complained about sexual harassment at the post.
Guillen’s death prompted an investigation that revealed she had been harassed by a superior after she reported being sexually assaulted by a fellow soldier.
The report also stated that her unit did not take appropriate action after she reported harassment to her supervisor on two separate occasions.
The soldier who killed Guillen took his own life.
Basalduaruiz’s death comes three years after Guillen’s murder, and her family hopes that justice will be served.
