Officials are conducting a search and recovery mission for two individuals who are believed to have drowned in Lake Eloise in Winter Haven, Polk County on Saturday.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is using sonar to assist in the search throughout the night.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Polk County Sheriff’s Marine unit are also involved in the search.
The lakes in the area are popular among anglers and boaters, and officials are asking people to avoid using the Lake Summit boat ramp and Lake Summit and Lake Eloise until further notice.
The search is ongoing, and officials are urging caution on the water.
