Local veterans participated in the annual Veterans Day parade in Savannah today. Bella Crossley, a member of Girl Scout Troop 285 from Jersey, expressed her excitement about supporting the veterans.
Jenny Veitch, also from Troop 285, explained that they decided to attend the parade while on a trip and viewed it as a perfect opportunity for fun. The girls had front-row seats to enjoy marching bands and veterans from Savannah, including Timothy Ansley, the Chatham County Veteran of the Year.
Ansley, who joined the Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam, expressed his joy in being recognized for his service. He values the annual parade because it recognizes the sacrifice that each individual out there has made.
