San Antonio police have made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to tackle a recent spate of robberies across the city.

Officers arrested two suspects last night, 24-year-old Hector Calderon and 23-year-old Azaline Montiano, who they believe are linked to at least six other robberies.

The arrests were made after detectives witnessed Calderon commit an armed robbery in the Prue area.

Officers stopped the getaway vehicle and seized a gun before taking Montiano into custody.

The suspects are currently being held in police custody, and investigations into the other robberies they are believed to have been involved in are ongoing.

The police have urged anyone with information that could assist their investigations to come forward.
