The Pentagon has released video footage of a Russian fighter jet allegedly dumping fuel on a US Air Force surveillance drone before colliding with it in international airspace over the Black Sea.

The video shows two Russian jets spraying fuel onto the unmanned American aircraft and then making a close pass causing the feed to break up and cut out as the military jet collided with the MQ-9 drone.

The Pentagon stated that the reckless and dangerous behavior of the Russian military was unacceptable and that they felt it was important to show the American people exactly what occurred.

The US was able to remotely wipe out the software in the drone before it crashed into the Black Sea.

There has been no apology from Russia regarding the incident.

The release of this video comes at a time of escalating tensions between the US and Russia.
