Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey warns of the potential impact of offshore wind farms on the Atlantic coast, stating that it could be the most significant transformation in U.S.
history.
Van Drew claims that the government is acting in the interest of rich and powerful overseas industries rather than American citizens.
He argues that the wind turbines, which can be over 1,000 feet tall and will cover millions of acres, will cause harm to the ocean floor, marine life, and businesses.
Additionally, Van Drew points out that over 50% of the industry’s investments would come from foreign countries.
During a hearing, Van Drew and other experts argued against the construction of wind farms, calling for a moratorium on the projects.
Van Drew urges for the protection of the environment and marine life and questions why the government is colluding with foreign industries that do not care about America.
