Today, we commemorate those who served our country, and in honor of this occasion, we share with you a clip from the WNDU Vault. It features a major US statue that made a stop in Mishawaka, Michigan.
The Statue of Liberty symbolizes the pursuit of a better life in America. The exhibit, called the Move to Freedom, showcases historical pictures and an actual piece of the statue. It travels across the country to raise donations for the refurbishing project, as Lady Liberty requires $230 million for a facelift. Families, like Sue Schultz’s and her two daughters, who recently became United States citizens, value the opportunity to reflect on freedom and its significance to their international family.
The exhibit will be available for viewing until 7 PM. Additionally, the museum will be in Elkart on Sunday at the Concord Mall. This is Sandy Mathys reporting for News Center 16..
